Clearwater, Fla.-(970 WFLA)-Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputies and Clearwater Police staged a night time D.U.I. checkpoint at Clearwater High School, along South Hercules Avenue.
The five-hour long operation ended with 19 people arrested and 12 vehicles impounded. The arrests include eight counts of driving under the influence, five counts of driving with a suspended or revoked license, two counts of driving with no valid license and four counts of pot possession.
Other charges range from possession of drugs without a prescription, felony violation of probation and providing a false name to an officer.
The checkpoint was decicated to Steven Thillard who was the victim of a crash with an impaired driver in 2006 in Largo.
