Morgan Wallen taking a step back from the spotlight

Morgan Wallen announced today (Wednesday) that he plans to take a step back from the spotlight after partying in Alabama last weekend. Several videos were posted of Morgan in a crowded nightclub, taking shots and kissing several girls. Many fans criticized not only Morgan's actions, which could have potentially spread coronavirus, but also the fact that he is a parent to a young baby, and is out partying while his son's mother is home being a single parent. As a result, his appearance on October 10th's episode of Saturday Night Live has been postponed indefinitely.

"My actions...were pretty short-sighted and have affected my long-term goals and my dreams."

He went onto thank his record label and management team as well as the SNL production crew for the opportunities he's been given, and apologized for acting irresponsibly.

"I tried to find joy in the wrong places and it's left me with less joy... I'm going to take a step back from the spotlight for a little while and go work on myself."

I personally think it takes a big person to admit when they've made a less-than-stellar decision, and I applaud Morgan's willingness to take ownership of his actions, and to actively work on becoming the best version of himself. Hey, we all make mistakes. See Morgan's announcement below. And if you haven't seen the partying videos that this is in response to, some of those are below as well.
