The Buccaneers have many needs heading into the offseason: cornerback, tight end, pass rusher and safety help. You may want to add linebacker to that list.
Our own Rick Stroud had a chance to catch up with GM Mark Dominik at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. Dominik says LB Quincy Black had nerve-graft surgery in late January. Black suffered a severe shoulder/neck injury last November when he collided with Chargers RB Ryan Mathews.
Dominik told Stroud there's a chance Black may have played his last game with the team. The Bucs won't know for "several months" if the surgery was successful. Black has earned $12-million guaranteed over the last two years with the club. Black would be eligible for $1-million injury protection if he can't play in 2013.
