If you are not watching Idol….you’re not alone…no one is.
Ratings are down… Wednesday night’s premiere drew 17.9 million viewers, a drop of 19 percent from last January’s debut. It was Idol’s lowest-rated and least-watched regular-season premiere telecast ever.
There is a story from last night that is good tho:
Lazaro Arbos was probably the best singer of the night. Which was pretty incredible, because when he talks, he stutters so badly that he can hardly get the words out. But his singing voice is amazing.
Chelsea Handler’s bosses don’t always find her funny. The New York Post reports that Comcast, which owns both E! and NBC, wasn’t very happy about a joke she made about Al Roker’s recent admission that he pooped his pants at the White House.
The Chelsea Lately host joked, “This isn’t the first time a Today show cast member was in the news about this sensitive subject. For years it was common knowledge that Matt Lauer spent every morning [s - - ting] all over Ann Curry.”
Well, execs at the studio were not amused, and a source says, “
A spokesperson denied the story, telling The Post, “This is absolutely false and no such request was made.”
Lance Bass was on Jimmy Kimmel's show last night. And just like Lance Armstrong, he had some secrets to confess.

John Mayer performed at a benefit concert on Wednesday night. It was his first performance in almost two years . . . since he found out he had growths on his vocal cords.
Mark Wahlberg did an interview with Anderson Cooper yesterday. And he said there's a sequel to "Ted" underway already. Not only that, but he and Ted will be at the Oscars with Seth MacFarlane this year.
A new Gremlins movie might be on the way. Vulture.com reports that Warner Bros Pictures is currently negotiating a reboot with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, which made the classic 1984 horror comedy.

Daddy-to-be Channing Tatum is trying out a new look. The Magic Mike actor stepped out for a quick bite with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum in
Pauline Phillips, the woman who created the popular “Dear Abby” advice column , died Wednesday. She was 94 and suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Phillips, twin sister of another advice columnist Ann Landers (who died in 2002), started the popular column in 1956 and wrote under the name Abigail Van Buren. Her daughter Jeanne has been writing the column in recent years.
MOVIES:
"The Last Stand" stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a small town sheriff trying to keep a drug lord from escaping across the Mexican border. Forest Whitaker is the federal agent in charge of the manhunt, and Johnny Knoxville plays a redneck
"Broken City" opens in theaters today. It stars Mark Wahlberg as an ex-cop who's double-crossed and framed for murder after the mayor hires him to investigate his wife's infidelity. Russell Crowe plays the corrupt mayor, Catherine Zeta-Jones plays his wife, and Jeffrey Wright is Wahlberg's former boss on the police force. (--Here's a scene where Russell Crowe berates Wahlberg, and says he owns him.)
"Mama" is a horror movie about two orphaned little girls who are rescued from a cabin in the woods, after surviving there for five years under the protection of a demented ghost. It's not until they're brought back to the city and reunited with their uncle that the ghost they call 'mama' becomes dangerously possessive. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from "Game of Thrones" plays their uncle, and Jessica Chastain from "Zero Dark Thirty" plays his girlfriend. Director Guillermo del Toro is the executive producer.
